Terms & Conditions for Listings on The Connekt

Welcome to The Connekt (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using our website, mobile app, or related services (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to the following Terms of Condition. Please review them carefully, as they outline your rights and responsibilities when engaging with our platform.
1. Purpose
The Connekt is a national platform designed to promote and increase the visibility of Black-owned businesses across the United States. Our mission is to provide a centralized directory and marketing hub for consumers seeking to support businesses that are majority Black-owned and operated.
2. Eligibility and Use
To participate in The Connekt’s directory or utilize our Services:
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Businesses must be at least 51% Black-owned.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and truthful information.
- You consent to have your business information displayed across The Connekt’s digital and promotional platforms.
- We reserve the right to verify ownership, reject, or remove any listing that fails to meet our standards or eligibility criteria.
3. Business Listings
- You authorize The Connekt to display your business name, description, category, and publicly available contact information on our website, mobile app, and related Services.
- Logos, images, and enhanced content will only be displayed after owner submission or authorization.
- You acknowledge that The Connekt may edit or format content for consistency, clarity, and quality.
- Business owners may claim, request edits, or request removal of their listing at any time.
- The Connekt reserves the right to remove or modify listings that are misleading, inaccurate, unverifiable, or non-compliant with platform standards.
- Free listings provide basic discoverability. Enhanced visibility, promotional placement, and marketing features are available through paid plans.
4. Subscriptions, Cancellations, and Refunds
Businesses may cancel their subscription or listing at any time through their account settings or by contacting The Connekt directly.
Cancellations will take effect at the end of the current paid period. All payments, including renewals, are final and non-refundable.
No refunds, credits, or partial reimbursements will be issued once a payment has been processed, regardless of usage or remaining time on the plan.
It is the responsibility of each business to review their selected plan, billing details, and renewal terms before completing a purchase.
The Connekt reserves the right to modify or update this policy at any time, with notice provided for any significant changes.
5. User Content
If you post reviews, comments, or related materials (“User Content”), you are responsible for ensuring it is accurate, lawful, and respectful. By submitting content, you grant The Connekt a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, promote, and distribute it as part of our Services. Inappropriate or unlawful content may be removed at our discretion.
6. Privacy and Verification
We collect information solely to verify ownership and maintain platform integrity.
- Verification data will not be shared publicly unless you explicitly request it.
- False or unverifiable ownership claims may result in listing removal.
Your use of our Services is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal and business data.
7. Intellectual Property
All website design, logos, images, and materials are the property of The Connekt or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any part of our Services without written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Connekt provides information and listings “as is,” without warranties or guarantees. We are not responsible for:
- Inaccurate or outdated information submitted by users
- Business transactions, outcomes, or disputes between parties
- Any damages arising from use, removal, or modification of listings
9. Divine Nine Recognition (Optional)
The Connekt honors the legacy of the Divine Nine (Black Greek-letter organizations).
- Business owners who are members may choose to disclose their affiliation for recognition within the directory.
- Disclosure is optional and visible only with the owner’s consent.
- False or unverifiable claims of affiliation may result in removal.
10. Updates and Revisions
We may modify these Terms to reflect service updates or policy changes. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of The Connekt after such updates constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
